As Teak lives in the sun, moisture and elements, it will naturally begin to get a silver–grey coloration which will increase in patina over time. This is part of the beauty of teak and does not sacrifice the durability or life. If the original natural color is desired, there are cleaning, sanding and oiling methods to bring it back to it’s original coloration. Weather Cover also are suggested to slow down this process and keep your furniture in it’s best condition. To keep the surfaces clean from dirt, mold and mildew, periodically hose with water and Teak Cleaner, scrubbing in the directions of the grain. For stubborn areas, use a power washer to clean. Hold the power washer approximately 30” away from the furniture and do not exceed 1200 PSI. Rinse and then allow to sun dry. Exposure to moisture over time can raise the wood grain. A light sanding with fine 120-grit sandpaper smooths the surface. Travertine Clean your stone top on a consistent and regular basis: Brush off loose dirt and dust. Create a cleaning solution of warm clean water and mild soap. Use a soft, clean cloth (one that won’t bleed color ) or sponge. Rinse thoroughly until all soap residue is removed. Dry thoroughly after cleaning with a clean cloth to prevent water spots.
