“Pallet Stacker – Multiple Raised Heights, Lowered Heights, and Featuress”

Overview Barron Equipment and Overhead Door carries the PS, PST, and PSTA Series of straddle pallet stacker units from Presto Lifts. These manual-drive, power-lift pallet stackers are built for servicing pallet racks with capacities up to 2,000 lbs and lift heights ranging from 62 inches to 144 inches. Every model in this lineup can be used with both open-bottom and closed-bottom pallets, giving facilities the flexibility to handle any pallet type without switching equipment. The pallet straddle stacker design features a fifth wheel configuration with a tiller handle that provides exceptional maneuverability and precise load positioning. The operator walks the unit into position and uses the powered hydraulic lift to raise and lower loads. This combination of manual drive and powered lift makes the straddle pallet stacker a practical choice for facilities that need reliable pallet handling without the cost or footprint of a fully powered unit. The forks are 36 inches long and made from solid steel — 1.5 inches thick by 3 inches wide. Forks adjust from 6.5 inches to 30 inches on the outside, which allows operators to match the fork spacing to a wide range of pallet sizes. Dual leaf-type chains with an 8,250 lb yield point provide strong, reliable lifting power, and a flow control valve ensures smooth lowering during operation. The PS262 features a fixed 42-inch inside straddle base with a single-stage mast and a raised height of 62 inches. The PS262-50 offers the same 62-inch lift height but with a wider 50-inch inside straddle, which accommodates larger pallets and skids. Both single-stage models have a lowered height of 2.5 inches and use 5-inch front wheels and 4-inch rear wheels. A hand-operated floor lock keeps the unit secure during loading and unloading. For operations that need to reach higher racking, the PST2107 uses a telescoping mast to reach 107 inches with a 42-inch inside straddle. The PST2144 reaches 144 inches — a full 12 feet — making it the tallest option in this pallet stacker series. For facilities that need both height and base width flexibility, the PSTA2127 combines a telescoping mast with an adjustable straddle base that ranges from 35 to 50 inches on the inside. This adjustable pallet straddle stacker gives operators the ability to match the base width to different pallet sizes on the same unit. All models include a heavy-duty battery and built-in charger, high-impact phenolic load wheels, and a compact footprint that offers a tighter turning radius than conventional forklifts. Applications A straddle pallet stacker is designed for operations that move and stack pallets at various heights throughout a facility. Common uses include: Stacking and unstacking pallets on warehouse racking systems Loading and unloading pallets from shelves, racks, and staging areas Servicing pallet racks in distribution centers and stockrooms Positioning loads at workstations, assembly lines, and production cells Handling both open-bottom and closed-bottom pallets and skids Working in aisles and floor areas where full-size forklifts cannot fit These pallet stackers work well in warehouses, distribution centers, manufacturing plants, and retail back-of-house areas. The manual-drive, power-lift design keeps the straddle pallet stacker simple to operate and easy to maintain. Because the operator walks the unit into position, there is no need for a ride-on cab or additional driver training. The tighter turning radius compared to a conventional forklift makes these units a good fit for facilities with limited aisle space. Selection Assistance Start by determining the lift height your facility needs. The PS262 and PS262-50 reach 62 inches and work well for ground-level stacking and low to mid-height shelving. The PST2107 reaches 107 inches for mid-height racking. The PST2144 reaches 144 inches for tall rack systems. The PSTA2127 reaches 127 inches and adds the benefit of an adjustable-width straddle base. Next, consider your pallet sizes. If your pallets are a consistent size and fit within a 42-inch inside straddle, the PS262 or PST models with a fixed 42-inch base will work. If your pallets are wider, the PS262-50 and PST-50 models offer a 50-inch inside straddle. If your facility handles a mix of pallet sizes, the PSTA2127 with its adjustable 35-inch to 50-inch straddle base provides the most flexibility in a single pallet straddle stacker. Keep in mind that shipping weights range from 875 lbs on the PS262 up to 1,250 lbs on the PSTA2127, so floor load capacity should be verified before placing an order. Optional accessories include remote controls, slip-on platforms, modified platforms, extended backplates, boom with hook, ram, drum grabber, roller bed, and fire-resistant hydraulic fluids.
