Painted Frog

For the Water Goddess — the pond's loudest optimist, gone quiet and permanent. Frogs are the old world's shorthand for renewal: rain coming, luck turning, life starting over. This one — thirteen hand-painted inches of him — began as a recycled steel oil drum in Haiti, where the artisans of Le Primitif still practice the craft Georges Liautaud founded in the late 1950s: design chalked on flattened steel, then cut free by hand with mallet and chisel. Entirely handmade, so dimensions and finish vary slightly. He is one of one. Hang him near the garden hose, the bath, or the kitchen sink — anywhere the water flows and the energy needs a fresh start. One in the shop. Approx. 7.5" x 13" x 0.5" · Hand-chiseled, hand-painted recycled steel wall art · Made in Haiti · Wipe with a dry cloth; shelter from harsh weather to keep the paint bright
