Painted Bison Sofa

Introducing the Painted Bison Leather Sofa, a bold statement piece that blends American-made craftsmanship with true Western artistry. Meticulously handcrafted in the USA and upholstered in rich saddle tan full-grain leather, this sofa is hand-finished to bring out a warm, timeworn patina—subtle highs and lows in the hide that only get better with age. Built for real living, the Painted Bison Sofa features an inviting, lounge-worthy profile with generously cushioned seating that lets you settle in fast and stay awhile. Clean, tailored lines keep the silhouette refined, while classic details—hand-applied nail tacks, striking leather seams, and substantial wood block feet—ground the piece in heirloom quality. What sets this sofa apart is the hand-painted bison stampede artwork by renowned artist Wayne Parmenter. Wrapping across the outer arms and sweeping along the back, the scene captures the raw momentum of the plains: powerful bison in motion, layered in earthy siennas, charcoals, and ember-like highlights, with a rider cutting through the herd in a cinematic burst of movement. It’s not just decoration—it’s a story painted into the leather, turning the sofa into a functional canvas that commands attention from every angle. If you want a luxury leather sofa that feels authentic—not mass-produced, not generic—the Painted Bison Leather Sofa delivers: premium full-grain leather, heirloom construction, and original hand-painted Western art in one unforgettable centerpiece.  Overall Dimensions: 33" H X 95" W X 44" D Seat Depth: 23" Seat Height: 19" Arm Height: 28" Leather Description: This is a full grain aniline leather tanned in a historic leather producing region of Italy using English hides. The century old tannery prepares this leather article by applying a hot wax, then turning the hides in old wooden tanning drums overnight to soften the natural fibers and impart it with a remarkable suppleness. The leather is then upholstered in its "crust form" on the furniture in North Carolina, After the furniture is made our leather artisans apply a multi step hand rubbed Patina using the same waxes and pigments used in Italy. Performing this process on the actual finished piece allows our artisans to develop a unique Patina, composition, and overall essence that creates a piece of furniture that has uniqueness, character and style that matches the individual who's selecting it. This leather imparts the feeling of a softer, well broken in leather one might find on a decades old chair discovered in a French country estate or the Parisian flea market. The leather is brand new from our Artisans hands... without the aging issues that sometimes come from the hands of time. Truly a unique, hand-made article in an era when only companies committed to the highest standards lavish this sort of attention and time to unique American made furniture. True 100% top/full grain cowhide leather is characterized by variations in shade, texture, color and grain. Healed marks and scars are normal and enhance the natural beauty of the hides.
