Pack of Cats

"Pack of Cats" Approximate Size: 19x24-inch Black marker on cardboard.  For Sale Description Drawn in black marker on creased, reclaimed cardboard, this animated scene captures a lone figure surrounded by a pack of alert, prowling cats. Arms raised in a mix of defense and surrender, the character stands at the center of a small frenzy—cats at his feet, on his body, and circling with unmistakable intent. The moment feels loud, physical, and alive. Artistic Review The composition thrives on energy and imbalance. Tall, open hands frame the scene like warning signs, while the cats—each with distinct posture and expression—create a rhythm of movement and tension. The loose, instinctive line work mirrors the subject itself: reactive, unplanned, and slightly feral. The cardboard’s creases act as natural fault lines, amplifying the sense of pressure and motion. Critique This piece succeeds by embracing disorder rather than controlling it. There’s no clear threat, no clear escape—only instinct meeting instinct. The cats are neither villains nor symbols; they are simply present, embodying unpredictability and collective force. Framed in gold, the humble materials and raw drawing are elevated into a modern folk tableau—humorous, chaotic, and deeply human. It’s a sharp meditation on vulnerability, survival, and the moments when control quietly slips away. Original, one-of-a-kind artwork. Hand-drawn on reclaimed cardboard, signed by the artist, and presented in a gold frame.
