Pachypodium lamerei

Madagascar Palm Pachypodium lamerei is a succulent with sharp dual-patterned spines about 1.5” long, completely covering its thick, almost woody-looking greenish-white trunks from top to bottom. On top of these wicked trunks, an upright tuft of bright green long leaves that look like feathers clustered on top of a crown forms. Mature plants can sometimes form elaborate top branching that adds to their dramatic appeal. They are drought-tolerant but will accept some regular watering. Plant them in very well-drained soil.
