CVR RE by Keane, colors by Carbajosa PUPPET: When Justice Becomes Vengeance A Supernatural Crime Thriller That Will Leave You Breathless. What happens when a detective's pursuit of justice leads her straight into the bowels of hell? Meet Detective Rebecca Hartman—a skilled homicide investigator, devoted single mother, and widow carrying the weight of personal tragedy. When a series of brutal murders rocks Ellis Falls, New Jersey, Rebecca finds herself investigating crimes that defy explanation. Bodies with jaws ripped clean off. Victims with their mouths and ears burned from the inside out. And at each crime scene, a mysterious ancient Sumerian tablet bearing the mark of Kilili, goddess of haunted places. But this isn't just another procedural thriller. The Hook That Changes Everything As Rebecca delves deeper into the case, consulting museum experts and following leads through the dark underbelly of her city, she discovers a terrifying truth: these aren't random killings. They're ritualistic summonings performed by an otherworldly entity known as the Alu—a faceless demon that possesses human hosts to carry out its ancient mission. The investigation becomes personal when Rebecca realizes the latest victim is Dr. Aarif Badawi, the very museum expert she'd been trying to contact. The killer is always one step ahead, leaving a trail of cuneiform tablets like breadcrumbs leading to an inevitable confrontation. The Twist That Redefines Everything Just when Rebecca thinks she's closing in on answers, the horror comes home. In a heart-stopping climax, the Alu invades her apartment, targeting not just her, but potentially her four-year-old son Alec and her father. The detective who spent her career seeking justice for victims becomes a victim herself—murdered in her own living room, impaled through a coffee table, with a Sumerian tablet placed on her chest. But death isn't the end of Rebecca's story. It's the beginning. Enter the Puppet In the mystical realm of Askal, where souls are judged before their final destination, Rebecca's journey takes an unprecedented turn. Shamash, the ancient Mesopotamian god of justice, has been watching. He's heard Rebecca's dedication to justice, witnessed her sacrifice, and now offers her something unprecedented: a second chance, but not at life—at justice itself. Rebecca is reborn as PUPPET, a supernatural agent of divine justice with otherworldly powers and a burning mission. No longer bound by the laws of the living world, she operates as Shamash's instrument of vengeance against the forces of darkness that prey on the innocent. Why PUPPET Will Captivate You 🔥 Visceral Horror Meets Police Procedural: This isn't your typical supernatural comic. We ground the horror in realistic detective work, making every supernatural element feel earned and terrifying. 👩🔬 Complex, Flawed Characters: Rebecca isn't a perfect hero—she's a working mother struggling with loss, duty, and the weight of protecting others while managing her own life. 🏛️ Rich Mythology: Drawing from authentic Mesopotamian/Sumerian lore, we've created a mythology that feels both ancient and urgently contemporary. 💥 Jaw-Dropping Transformation: The moment Rebecca becomes Puppet is pure visual spectacle—a crucifixion-like rebirth in flames that will become iconic. 🎭 Emotional Depth: This story explores themes of justice vs. vengeance, sacrifice, motherhood, and what we're willing to become to protect those we love. What Makes This Special PUPPET isn't just another supernatural hero story. It's a meditation on justice in a world where the system fails, where evil wears human faces, and where sometimes the only way to fight monsters is to become something monstrous yourself. The transformation from detective to supernatural agent isn't just physical—it's philosophical. Rebecca must grapple with wielding power beyond human comprehension while maintaining her humanity and her mission to protect the innocent. The Visual Experience Every page of PUPPET is designed to be cinematic. From the grimy crime scenes of Ellis Falls to the otherworldly landscapes of Askal, from the clinical sterility of the museum to the fiery rebirth sequence, this is a visual feast that demands to be seen in print. The Alu's design alone—a faceless entity with spiral-shell eyes—will haunt your dreams. The contrast between Rebecca's human world and the supernatural realm creates a visual language that's both beautiful and terrifying. Your Investment in Justice By backing PUPPET, you're not just getting a graphic novel—you're getting the first chapter of what promises to be an epic supernatural crime saga. You're supporting a story that treats both its horror elements and its human drama with equal respect. This is storytelling that doesn't insult your intelligence. It's horror that earns its scares.
