"While the Vortex also has a lot of depower, and is awesome for any sort of boosting, the difference is that it has more handling response for megaloop performance - and even double and triple loops if you dare! "Much of that comes from the extra arc shape, which increases the handling response. It also moves the rotation point further into the middle of the kite. The Vortex has a beautiful balance between movement and power, gripping the entire way around its turn. "No slips. No 'wheel-spinning' if you like. No momentary loss of control. Power, consistent speed of movement, and control at your fingertips. "The 3-strut design is a great base for agility which we combined with light weight materials and the unbeatable stiffness of the Aluula airframe. The Vortex feels assured in strong and gusty winds, while also injecting a huge amount of performance for those tricky light wind sessions. "We work closely with the expert manufacturing teams at our in-house production facility and can fine tune the designs with the power of our integrated and custom-built OzCAD design system. "From the R&D team at the beach, through our design software to our factory teams, everything we do is in sync, because we own, control and constantly evolve every step of the process. "As a result, every panel cut is millimeter perfect, and every stitch is made with precision, creating a beautifully tight canopy tension that's consistent across the kite, laid across a powerful air frame that's light weight, but very strong. "Everything feels like it's working seamlessly as one block and why you'll never lose connection to the kite. "We wanted to build a kite that inspires confidence in all situations. I recommend you book a demo and try one!" DOM ZIMMERMANN, LEAD DESIGNER, OZONE R&D TEAM "TOTAL TRUST" FEEDBACK FROM VORTEX RIDERS The Vortex V1 received extremely positive reviews and testimonials over the last two years thanks to the predictable, responsive nature of its flight, helping a huge number of riders improve their performance levels... not just the pros. "I can't live without this kite. If you don't have it in your quiver you are blowing it!" JON MCCABE, MAUI "The quick handling and speed of movement generates so much apparent wind. I'm able to practice all my kite loop tricks in lighter winds, which leads to more success. "For most twin-tip riders, I think it's the perfect kite for progression." NETANEL SMADJA, ISRAEL "It's light, powerful and with insane jump potential. Everything feels easier than ever before. Even the 12 metre offers sporty kite loop performance. In crazy conditions the 6m helped me learn S-loops and double loops. These kites just build your confidence so well." SIMONE BORGI, ITALY "Stiff and fast with a lot of depower. I always feel like I'm on a racing motorbike, Just the best kite ever, whether for kite loops, air style board-offs or pure big air. I love every session." TOMMY BORGI, ITALY (14 years-old) "Easy riding underpowered and overpowered. You will ride 20% faster, with more feeling of control. Test it once and you'll love it!" Aluula Performance Airframe  Aluula can provide a tensile strength increase of as much as 38% compared to standard material construction, while tear strength is up to seven times greater.   Careful integration of Aluula can also deliver up to a 30% weight saving overall. Teijin TechnoForce 3×3 Ripstop Canopy  Teijin is the world’s leading supplier of technical performance materials for marine sports, setting the benchmark in quality with proven superiority in dynamic strength and durability. Teijin TechnoForce Double Ripstop Lightweight canopy Sizes 10m to 17m now feature our proven lighter weight double ripstop 46g canopy. By shaving off up to 150g, we’ve created big-sized kites that rival the agility of much smaller models and can compete with similar size foil kites for power Double Transverse Sail Shaping The Leading Edge features Double Transverse Sail Shaping creating a cleaner and tighter surface on the most important area of the aerofoil. The result is less turbulent airflow and longer skin adhesion, which positively effects the lift to drag ratio increasing overall performance. 4-line Pulley-less System NO pulleys, NO problems. We design all our inflatable kites without pulleys, to inherit the unique Ozone feeling and performance across our range. High Performance Bridle Lines High performance Technora bridle lines offer a vast reduction in parasitic drag and reduced weight. Fast Flow One-Pump Inflation System The Fast Flow One-Pump Inflation System makes set up and packing quick and easy. It features single point inflation/deflation and a high air flow rate between the Struts and Leading Edge, with clips to seal the hoses to prevent unwanted air flow in case of damage. Internal reinforcements What’s on the inside counts too - we use top of the line materials and strategic internal reinforcements for increased strength and durability. Overlap Flat Seams Overlap flat seam construction improves sail control resulting in an overall cleaner canopy. Load Distribution Panels Dacron reinforcements are used on all loaded areas for enhanced load distribution. This means all loads are spread evenly into the sail ensuring the kite flies and performs at its best. Direct Connect Struts Our Direct Connect construction method improves load distribution between the Leading Edge, Struts and Canopy. Struts are connected directly to the Leading Edge with internal and external reinforcements. This unique construction method ensures clean profiles are maintained with the optimum canopy tension. Reinforced Trailing Edge Double layer Trailing Edge reinforcement with an internal lightweight Dyneema line reduces canopy wear and helps to maintain optimum Trailing Edge tension as designed. Reinforced Leading Edge and Struts The Leading Edge and Struts are reinforced in high stress areas to ensure the kite canopy remains in shape and performs at its best. Unique bladder construction Our bladders are constructed in-house with advanced custom built welding machines. Double layered sections are applied to any potential wear areas. Anti-Snag line deflectors The Anti-Snag line deflectors prevent bridles and lines from tangling around the wing tip. Safety is increased when launching with a partner and water re-launch is made easier. Tuned bridle geometry We work extensively during our R&D process to develop the size range to feel in tune with each other. Every kite has a unique bridle layout, individually tested and fine-tuned to maximize the feeling and performance. Anti-Flap Battens A combination of soft and rigid battens strategically positioned along the trailing edge provide canopy support and reduce flutter, enhancing kite feedback to the rider and also reducing canopy material wear. Back-line trimming options Customise your handling and bar pressure with the back line bridle attachments. Closer to the Leading Edge for slower turn speed and more bar pressure, or closer to the Trailing Edge for faster turn speed and less bar pressure. Fool proof line connectors Fool proof line connectors prevent incorrect rigging of the flying lines to the kite. Water Kite Technical Bag - Technical Bag with loads of space - Internal stash pocket - External control system pocket - Board straps - Pump holder - Adjustable shoulder straps Back panel foam padding provides extra comfort Sweetspot Intermediate to Advanced Advanced Wind range is indicative only based on an average rider weight of 80kg. Actual range will vary based on rider skill level and type of board used. The upper range on high performance products may be higher for professional riders.
