What is a "BIBS" Mask? BIBS stands for Built-In Breathing System. Standard Excel: You breathe the air that is circulating inside the chamber. Even if you use a small nasal cannula, you are mostly breathing "ambient" enriched air. BIBS Model: This is a medical-grade silicone mask that seals to your face. It delivers oxygen directly from the concentrator to your lungs without mixing it with the air inside the chamber first.   2. Oxygen Concentration & "The Math" This is where the real difference lies. Standard: In the standard Excel, the oxygen concentrator fills the whole "room" (the chamber). It’s hard to get the entire room above a certain percentage because of physics and constant air exchange. With BIBS: Because the mask is a closed loop, you are breathing nearly pure oxygen. When combined with the pressure of the chamber (e.g., 1.5 or 2.0 ATA), the amount of oxygen dissolved into your blood plasma is significantly higher than the standard model.   3. Air Quality & Humidity Standard: Since you are breathing the chamber air, it can sometimes feel a bit "stuffy" or humid after 60 minutes of breathing inside a sealed tube. With BIBS: The BIBS system includes an exhaust valve. When you exhale, your carbon dioxide (CO₂) and moisture are funneled out of the chamber through a dedicated hose.
