Oxidized Tiny Mermaid • Endless Hoop Charm Earring

The earliest mermaid legends appeared in Syria around 1000 BC about the goddess Atargatis who dove into a lake to take the form of a fish. The waters proved unable to conceal her divine beauty, only her bottom half became a fish and her top half remained in human form. The prefix 'mer' comes from the old English word mere, meaning sea. Across cultures and time, mermaids have become fiercely feminine symbol of transformation. Icons of independence and mystery, like the wild waters of the sea, ever in motion. Seductive and charming creatures, mermaids are known for being headstrong and crave their freedom.  Oxidized sterling silver mermaid coin charm floats on a delicate 14k gold Endless Hoop Earring is approximately 3/4" in length (including hoop) x 3/8 wide Hand-crafted in Los Angeles, California Design comes in 2 sizes, this is the smaller version Designed to mix or match.
