Position them 1 inch deep and 6 inches apart in well-drained soil. This sun-loving plant thrives with direct sunlight outdoors or bright light indoors. In USDA zones 7–10, it can remain in-ground year-round; in cooler zones, bring indoors during dormancy or overwinter tubers. Climate and Soil Requirements Oxalis triangularis prefers loose, well-draining soil and sunny conditions. Use a sandy or peat-based mix when growing in pots to prevent root rot and ensure healthy development. Sunlight and Watering Provide full sun exposure outdoors or bright, indirect light indoors. Water when the top inch of soil becomes dry, and reduce watering significantly when the plant enters dormancy in fall or late summer. Care and Maintenance Remove spent flowers and yellowing leaves to encourage continuous growth. If your plant becomes dormant, simply allow it to rest in a cool, dry location and resume watering when new growth appears.
