Great Grey Owl Flight

Wings Open Against a Winter SkyA great grey owl comes straight at the viewer, wings spread full width, talons dropping into position. Barred grey and umber feathers catch light from a bloom of teal and violet behind it, while snow drifts across a stand of dark pines. The eyes are two points of gold in a face of concentric rings. It's painted with the softness of oil and the drama of night sky work, cold blues pushed almost to black at the edges. The piece sits naturally in our Animals collection, and its dreamlike winter light connects it to Fantasy Art and Landscapes. --- Silent FlightA great grey owl breaks through falling snow, wings at full span. Behind it, a wash of teal and violet lights the pines. Gold eyes hold you in place before you notice anything else in the frame.
