OVS XD Nomadic 270 Degree Awning

OVS XD Nomadic Awning 270 Overview Looking for a premium 270-degree awning that’s built to go the distance? The Overland Vehicle Systems XD Nomadic 270 Awning is the high end upgrade that delivers unmatched durability, coverage, and ease of use — and it’s our top pick for 2024. Here’s what sets the XD Nomadic 270 apart: Built Tougher. The XD stands for "Extreme Duty," and it lives up to the name. This awning uses a heavier-grade poly-cotton ripstop canvas (600D) and aluminum-reinforced framing that make it significantly stronger than the standard HD version. It's designed to handle harsh elements, from desert sun to alpine storms, making it a true four-season companion. Enhanced Stability. Unlike standard models, the XD includes upgraded pivoting arms and oversized hinges that boost structural strength in windy conditions. Plus, the 6 included telescoping aluminum support poles offer added reinforcement when you need it. Quicker Setup, Smarter Design. Despite its beefed-up build, the XD 270 still sets up in about 60–90 seconds solo. The hinged, swing-out frame design deploys smoothly and locks into place with minimal effort — perfect for fast stops or basecamp setups. More Coverage, Better Shade. With nearly 130 square feet of shade, the XD version extends farther and wraps tighter than the HD model, offering seamless protection for you, your gear, or your whole crew. Universal Fit. Like all OVS awnings, the XD is designed to mount to most factory and aftermarket roof racks or bed racks — no custom fabrication or drilling needed. How much does the OVS XD Nomadic 270 weigh? The OVS XD Nomadic 270 Awning weighs 70 lbs, making it slightly heavier than the standard Nomadic 270 due to its more robust construction. Can you get an OVS XD Nomadic 270 with walls? Yes! You can add optional walls to the XD Nomadic 270 Awning to create an enclosed space for extra shelter, sleeping, or protection from extreme weather. What is the difference between a 270 and a standard awning? A 270-degree awning wraps around the vehicle, covering three sides, providing significantly more coverage than a standard, one-sided awning. The XD Nomadic 270 offers the most coverage and is ideal for larger groups or those needing extra shelter. Is a 180 awning better than a 270 awning? It depends on your needs. A 180-degree awning covers just one side of the vehicle, which is lighter and more compact but offers less coverage than a 270-degree awning. If maximum shade and coverage are important, go for a 270. What are the OVS XD Nomadic 270 awning dimensions? The XD Nomadic 270 provides around 129 square feet of coverage. When opened, it measures 240" x 157" x 88.5". When closed, it’s 88” x 7” x 6”. What are standard size awnings? Standard awnings typically refer to rectangular awnings that extend off one side of the vehicle, while 180-degree awnings cover half a circle. A 270-degree awning like the XD Nomadic 270 offers more comprehensive coverage, wrapping around the back. How do I know what size awning I need? It’s all about your needs. If you want maximum coverage, the 270 is the way to go. However, if you're looking for something lighter and smaller, a 180 or standard awning might be more appropriate. What is the best 270-degree awning? The OVS XD Nomadic 270 is considered one of the best 270-degree awnings available for 2024, thanks to its premium construction, quick setup, and impressive durability. Does it come with a warranty?
