Out of Order: Vows & Valleys Book 3

They said marriage was a partnership. So why does it feel like they’re playing by two completely different rules? Nicole and Damien Brooks appear to be the perfect Christian couple on paper. She’s a respected architect with a growing career and a deep faith. He’s a dedicated husband, a steady provider, and an active member of their church. But behind closed doors, their marriage is falling apart. Nicole is exhausted. She’s doing everything—paying bills, parenting, making decisions—while trying not to outshine her husband. Damien feels like he’s failing as a man, a leader, and a husband. He’s shut down emotionally, unsure of who he’s supposed to be anymore. Both are stuck in outdated expectations of what a “biblical marriage” should look like—and neither one is thriving. Enter Dr. Selah James, the compassionate Christian counselor known for peeling back emotional layers with grace and truth. She helps Nicole and Damien unravel the tangled messages they’ve inherited about masculinity, submission, leadership, and love. What does it mean to lead when leadership isn’t about control? What does it mean to submit when you’re already carrying the weight of everything? And can two people build something holy—when the blueprint they were handed is broken? Set in a quiet Southern town and rooted in Christian values, Out of Order is a powerful, soul-stirring Christian romance about redefining marriage roles with mutual honor, spiritual purpose, and courageous vulnerability. Because sometimes the only way forward… is to tear down what’s not working—and build again on truth.
