Coco Kambodi 2016

It eventually translates into a colorful shade of red, maroon and purple... Are you tired of the bright tropical florals and need simply an Oud that roars without being animalic or barnyardy - look no further... Experience the alluring aroma of roasting cocoa beans and bitter cacoa nibs, enveloped in the warm embrace of a wood fire. Rich, dark chocolate notes tantalize the senses, reminiscent of a strong espresso with just a hint of sweetness. Watch as the sugar transforms from caramel to molasses, with the finishing touch of dark resin and tobacco leaves to complete the evening. But wait! Coco Kambodi hasn’t finished the ride. A sudden fruity tartness. Surprisingly - Berries. Dark, syrupy berries. I don’t detect them all at once. Just when I think we are nearing the finale - those berries rear their head.  This particular nectar, through aging, the funk has finessed into smooth notes of cacao, espresso & hints of caramel and coffee, it eventually translates into a colorful shade of red, maroon and purple, yet dark & tarty with cherries & berries, also sweet & sour. This offering has a musky/ woody dry down, with sweet & spicy undertones. If this is your first time embarking on this journey, be ready to sit with it, take your time, and let it fully immerse you. And for those who have already invested their life savings into this journey, it will captivate you with its heavenly complexity, deep layers, and intoxicating blend of medicinal, gourmand, and vintage profile. The oil was distilled in 2016, using 40 year old agarwood crassna trees in Cambodia (trat) This is an organic oud oil, and like our cultivated collection, the infection is introduced by means of drilling only (no chemicals or injections). Consequently, King Kambodi is easily among the most robust, satisfying, full-spectrum Cambodian Ouds you will experience.
