Orvis Ratio Spool

This item is a spool only. The Orvis Ratio Fly Reel is designed for anglers who demand dependable drag performance and the durability to handle powerful fish in both fresh and saltwater. Precision-machined from aerospace-grade aluminum and finished with a corrosion-resistant anodizing, the Ratio delivers strength and reliability whether you're chasing steelhead, stripers, tarpon, or other hard-running species. At the heart of the reel is Orvis’s fully sealed carbon-stainless disc drag system, engineered to provide smooth startup and consistent pressure across a wide drag range. Multiple drag surfaces increase contact area, allowing the reel to deliver impressive stopping power while still protecting lighter tippets. The oversized drag knob allows quick, precise adjustments—even in the middle of a fast run—while the sealed design keeps out salt, sand, and debris for dependable performance season after season. A large arbor design allows for faster line pickup and reduced line memory, while the balanced spool and low-profile counterweight ensure smooth rotation at high speeds. Easy conversion between left- and right-hand retrieve makes the Ratio a versatile reel for anglers fishing a wide range of species and environments. Built with the strength and simplicity serious anglers expect, the Orvis Ratio is a dependable reel designed to perform wherever powerful fish test your gear.
