Proudly built by American workers, the Orion 150x is ready for any bench, workshop, or studio!   The Orion 150x delivers up to 150 joules or watt seconds of energy in 0.2 increments or as little as one joule. The Orion 150x provides agitation energy control, which allows you to add or remove peaks of energy from the downslope of the welding current. These peaks add both heat and intensity to the weld and shapes the weld stream and focuses or diffuses the stream of flowing electrons. Agitation can assist in removing porosity and creating a deeper weld penetration.   What can you do with the Orion® 150x? Pulse arc welding is the perfect solution for intricate and minute welding applications on precious and non-precious metals. For example: Workpiece Assembly Extending a Prong Adding Fill Materials for Repair Joining Two Ends Together   Pulse Arc Welding for Jewelry, Aerospace, Manufacturing, And More Designed to meet the rigorous demands of professionals across jewelry, dental, aerospace, and manufacturing markets, the new Orion 150x offers stronger welds, a price point for a faster return on investment, and exceptional customer service that has defined the Sunstone brand for nearly 20 years.   Integrated Touchscreen, Optics, Stylus, Articulating Arm The Orion 150x combines the touchscreen display, optics, articulating arm, and stylus into one integrated unit that quickly attaches to any bench or table. At any time, you can swing the welder away and open up your work area for other tasks. The power supply, which can be tucked under your bench or attached to any vertical surface, is utilitarian, allowing you to directly attach small bins for part storage, tool holders to stay organized, and many other attachments. You can design and 3D print whatever type of attachment that will make their job easier. Small Footprint Fits Any Workspace The Orion x-Series has a smaller footprint than earlier models. The Orion 150x takes less space on the bench or can be easily placed below the bench. The 5x microscopic optics, mounted to an articulating arm, can be easily swung away when not in use, helping to keep the bench more accessible. Convenient, Tactile Energy Adjustment Buttons The Orion 150x sports energy adjustment buttons near the stylus so you can quickly adjust energy levels without taking your eyes off the workpiece. These two buttons, one to increase energy and one to decrease energy, is a first for pulse arc welders. You’ll love convenience! New, Smartphone-style Software with Widget Organization The software interface for the 150x is designed for efficiency, simplicity, and customization. Like your smartphone, you can choose which features are most important to your needs and place them on the home screen to be more readily available. You can choose from more than 20 different languages, quickly access a complete library of how-to and instruction videos, save preferred weld schedules that can be accessed for later use, and choose from an infinite number of background colors.   Pulse Arc Welding vs Laser Welding Stronger. The Orion 150x compliments a laser welder, providing capabilities the laser welder lacks. However, pulse arc technology produces a stronger weld due to a deeper energy penetration of the workpiece. Faster. Pulse arc technology is more affordable than laser welding and thereby delivers a faster return on investment. For more reflective metals, like silver, a pulse arc welder performs with superior results. Better. With nearly 20 years of micro-welding experience behind us, Sunstone provides a better customer experience than you’ll find anywhere else. Sunstone does not promote one welding technology over another. Instead, we let the application dictate which type of technology to employ. Just as you may have multiple hammers or pliers in your workshop, you’ll benefit from having both a pulse arc and laser welder. You can trust Sunstone to recommend the best solution to your welding challenges!
