Organizational Coping Skills (PDF)

Life can feel overwhelming when tasks pile up and plans fall through. For many clients, relying on memory or scrambling at the last minute only adds to the stress and frustration. Having a clear plan and simple routines can make the day run more smoothly and leave room for life’s unexpected challenges. The Organizational Coping Skills handout guides clients in managing stress by bringing order to their daily lives. It introduces the different types of organizational coping skills, such as creating to-do lists and planning ahead. Using these skills helps kids and teens feel more prepared and confident. We recommend having them choose one or two skills to focus on for the day. They can also track their progress in a planner or journal to see how their efforts add up over time. In addition, encourage them to celebrate small wins — like completing a task early on their to-do list to build motivation. *This item is an instant digital download.
