Manufactured in a Gluten-Free Facility Urad Dal is also known as Black Gram. It has its origins in ancient India where it was first cultivated and has remained a staple ever since. It’s a main ingredient in many famous Indian dishes including Dosas, Idli, Papadums and Dal Makhani. This Urad Dal split and not husked. It still has it's black husk on. Urad Dal is a very nutritious bean, containing plant protein, fiber, low-glycemic carbohydrates, vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. Our Certified Organic Urad Dal is split and husked so the skins are removed. The flavor is mildly earthy and slightly sweet.
