Organic Ume (Japanese Plum) Vinegar Pickled Ginger

Worldwide delivery Prefecture: Tokyo Producer: Maruai Foods Ingredients: Organic ginger (from Japan), organic shiso leaves (from Japan), pickling ingredients (organic plum vinegar, organic rice vinegar, salt) Vegan, Gluten-free, Dairy-free, Soy-free Size: 50g Storage: Refrigerate after opening. Tsukemono (pickled things) are served alongside every meal in Japan and were originally made as a way of preserving local seasonal vegetables. This organic Ume Vinegar Pickled Ginger is made by infusing organic ginger and shiso with the refreshing floral flavors of organic ume and rice vinegars. The ginger provides a hint of spice while the shiso leaves create a deep pink-purple color and refreshing minty taste. The final result is a pickled ginger that is mellow in taste, especially when compared to Japan’s more common pickled ginger known as beni shouga. Our producer, Maruai Foods, is committed to making pickled vegetables grown domestically in Japan without any additives. Maruai Foods believes in the importance of food as the starting point to nurture the body and mind. They hope their foods will be the centerpiece of “food memories” that make you smile! Suggested uses: Use as a topping for traditional Japanese dishes such as chirashizushi, okonomiyaki, gyudon or yakisoba. Can also be added to sandwiches, in tempura or chopped into fried rice. Makes for a great spread when chopped into cream cheese.
