Organic Tumeric

Whiskey Hill Farms & Science Center grows certified organic turmeric regeneratively in nutrient-rich soil in Watsonville, California. Their growing system uses complementary plants, protected greenhouse canopies, natural frog habitats for pest management and soil fertility, and innovative methods designed to care for the land. After harvest, the turmeric is carefully cleaned, rinsed, organically sanitized, dried and stored under controlled conditions to protect its freshness and quality. Fresh turmeric brings beautiful color and a warm, earthy flavor to soups, curries, rice, smoothies, teas and fresh juices. It also contains curcumin, a naturally occurring plant compound studied for its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. I carry this turmeric because it is fresh, certified organic, regeneratively grown on the Central Coast and produced by people working to solve problems for both the earth and their community. That is the kind of agriculture I want my customers to know about and support. 💛 Try grating it into your meals with a little black pepper and olive oil!
