Organic Raspberry - Caroline Red (Ea)

Caroline is a red primocane raspberry supplied as one certified-organic potted plant. Extension references describe it as vigorous, cold-hardy, and productive, with large, medium-red fruit, moderate firmness, and good flavor. Plant form: 1 potted raspberry plant USDA zones: 4–8 Chill requirement: 200 hours Fruiting type: Primocane Pollination: Self-fruitful; one variety can set fruit Sun: Full sun Plant in fertile, well-drained soil and avoid poorly drained sites; Caroline is susceptible to root rot. Keep moisture even, mulch without burying the crown, and provide support where needed. For one late-summer crop, cut the fruited primocanes to the ground during dormancy. In climates with a long enough season, growers may retain the lower portions for a smaller floricane crop before removing those canes after fruiting. Harvest timing and crop size vary with climate and care. Browse the berry plant collection and use the raspberry growing guide for planting and pruning details. Organic certification applies to the nursery plant sold here; it does not guarantee that later garden practices or harvested fruit will remain certified organic.
