Orecchiette

What's that sound? Hopefully it's water boiling and ready to cook up these classic ear-shaped pasta cuts! Quick Facts Country of Origin: USA Unit Size: 16 oz (454 g) The Flavor Experience The durum semolina flour offers a subtle nutty flavor, but the true star is the shape. These little "ears" (orecchiette translates to "little ears" in Italian) are designed to cradle and capture sauce, ensuring a burst of flavor with every bite. Cook your orecchiette in a large pot of salted boiling water for 8-10 minutes, aiming for that perfect al dente texture.  The Story Hailing from Puglia, the southern tip of Italy's boot, orecchiette boasts a rich history. Pinching and shaping dough by hand was a traditional technique, and these little "ears" were born! Embrace the artisanal heritage with every delicious mouthful. Usage Tips Orecchiette is a dream come true for those who love thick and chunky sauces. From hearty meat ragùs to vibrant veggie-packed creations, the orecchiette will hug every morsel for a truly satisfying experience. Beyond just sauces, try orecchiette in a summery pasta salad – the little ears will hold onto bits of cheese, veggies, and dressing for a delightful medley in every forkful.
