Oprha Winfrey

From a little girl with a love for storytelling to one of the most influential women in the world, this is the remarkable journey of Oprah Winfrey. Oprah’s passion for words and stories began in childhood. She read everything she could find, captivated audiences in church, and dreamed of making a difference. With determination and hard work, she won a university scholarship and became a television news anchor at just nineteen years old! But Oprah had even bigger ambitions. She discovered that her true talent was connecting with people, and through The Oprah Winfrey Show she transformed TV and talk shows forever. With her warmth, honesty, and curiosity, she inspired millions, tackled important topics, and gave a voice to those who needed to be heard. Oprah didn’t just change TV - she built an entire media empire. From starting her own network to starring in films and publishing books, she used her success to empower young people, support education, and fight for social justice. Her dedication to helping others even earned her the Presidential Medal of Freedom, recognising her impact far beyond the world of entertainment. Oprah Winfrey is the latest inspiring addition to the Little People, BIG DREAMS series that shows children that their voices matter, their dreams are valid, and that anything is possible with courage and determination.
