Open Flute Carbide Bur

The Open Flute Carbide Bur is a remarkable tool that can cut through metal quickly and efficiently while leaving a clean, polished surface behind. What's even better is that it produces larger chips that easily fall to the ground – reducing the amount of dust and debris that can remain suspended in the air. However, it is important to keep in mind that this bur is not meant for cutting "uphill" as this can lead to problems like nicks, digs, and kickbacks. Though it may have been designed for work in metal,  they also work exceptionally well for woodcarving. They're less sensitive to grain orientation and leave a very nice finish behind. Whether you're working with metal or wood, this bur is definitely one worth trying out. Flute carbide burs are a must-have for anyone in the dental or medical field, as well as jewelers and woodworkers. One of the easiest things you can do to maintain your burs is to store them safely in a holder or box. This prevents them from knocking into one another and becoming damaged. When using your burs, apply just enough pressure to get the job done without burning the bits. Overheating them can cause them to become brittle and snap.Cleaning your carbide-point bits with a brass brush will prevent them from  clogging, while a wet white whetstick can be used to clean diamond bits. A neoprene rubber bar works wonders in removing dust from ruby bits, stones, and sanding discs.Lastly, a diamond hone or dressing stone can reshape and clean stones for optimal performance. With a little care and attention, your burs will last longer and perform better, saving you time and money in the long run.
