How do I choose between 1/8, 1/4, and 1/2 diffusion filter strengths?1/8 offers subtle highlight blooming and natural sharpness; 1/4 enhances softness for more pronounced glow; 1/2 significantly softens and may lose detail. Choose 1/8 for routine cinematic use. How does Opaline diffusion compare to Black Mist filters?Opaline diffuses with a controlled, blended halation (white and black particulates), preserving contrast better than Black Mist, which uses only black diffusion and creates stronger halation. Which threaded diffusion filter size do I need: 49mm, 67mm, 77mm, or 82mm?Match the filter size to your lens thread marking (e.g., ∅77 = 77mm). Multi-size availability covers most cinema and photo lenses in the field. What diffusion filter gives glow and highlight control without making the image too soft?Opaline 1/8 blends halation with minimal softening, keeping facial detail and sharpness intact.
