On the Edge Lyons Studios Limited Edition Aviation Print

Anyone who's ever glanced skyward and marveled at the splendor of an aircraft aviating overhead will adore On the Edge, Sam Lyons' adrenaline-inducing accolade to world-renowned airshow entertainer Sean D. Tucker. At its center, the 17" x 26" illustration showcases Tucker's iconic exhibition plane, the Oracle Challenger III. In the image, the sensational scarlet biplane dazzles throngs of spectators at the EAA AirVenture 2012 gathering in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. Those familiar with Tucker and his aerobatic abilities will relish Lyons' phenomenally detailed depiction of the airplane, which even includes his sponsors' names on the cowling. Aerobatic enthusiasts will also appreciate the title's aeronautically appropriate argot, which refers to knife-edge flight, a common maneuver in the world of aerobatics. Additionally, it just wouldn't be a Sam Lyons production without an obligatory Piper Cub or two, and the grounds below the Challenger III are chock-full of little yellow Cubs, which gathered to celebrate the model's 75th anniversary during Oshkosh '12. This picture is available as both an Artist Proof (limited to 10) and a signed & numbered Limited Edition print (limited to 75). Both versions are printed on acid-free paper, utilize first-rate permanent inks, and include a Certificate of Authenticity. An illustrious homage to a superior stick & rudder pilot - and his equally impressive aircraft - that is, quite simply, a cut above the rest.
