Cloudsurfer 2 (Men)

Smooth Ride, Effortless Transitions — The Cloudsurfer, Refined The On Cloudsurfer 2 is a men's road running shoe that takes On's premium daily trainer and refines it with meaningful updates that make an already well-regarded shoe genuinely better across the board. A completely reworked more breathable engineered mesh upper, a newly tuned CloudTec Phase midsole with updated foam geometry, a more structured and generously padded tongue and heel collar, TPU overlays around the eyelets for added durability, and improved rubber coverage on the outsole for enhanced grip and longevity — the Cloudsurfer 2 is the shoe for runners who want a lightweight, versatile daily trainer with a smooth rolling ride that feels effortless from easy recovery miles through moderate tempo efforts. Built with recycled polyester upper materials for a sustainably minded construction, and true to size with a slightly roomier forefoot. Made in Vietnam. Reworked Engineered Mesh Upper — Breathable, Durable, Dialed In The Cloudsurfer 2's most immediately noticeable upgrade over its predecessor is its completely revised engineered mesh upper — a more breathable, lighter-feeling construction that significantly improves airflow during warmer-weather runs and higher-intensity workouts without sacrificing the structural integrity and protection needed for all-day wear. The upper is crafted from recycled polyester with embroidered overlays made from recycled yarn that add support and structure in key zones without adding unnecessary weight or bulk. New TPU overlays around the eyelets prevent lace wear from damaging the upper over time — a practical durability improvement that helps the Cloudsurfer 2 hold up better through extended mileage. The redesigned tongue now features a more structured, generously padded construction that wraps the instep comfortably, while the padded heel collar sits slightly lower for a more natural feel and improved heel lockdown throughout each run. Fit runs true to size with a slightly roomier forefoot that accommodates natural toe splay on longer runs. CloudTec Phase Midsole, Helion Superfoam, Rocker Geometry — Buttery Smooth Transitions The engineering heart of the Cloudsurfer 2 is its CloudTec Phase midsole — On's diagonal and tuned-hole midsole construction in which strategically positioned openings throughout the Helion superfoam create a rockered ride geometry that compresses on landing and propels the foot forward through toe-off in one smooth, connected motion. The result is a heel-to-toe transition that reviewers consistently describe as effortless and smooth, making the shoe feel like it actively encourages the next step. At 37mm of stack height in the heel and 28mm in the forefoot, the Cloudsurfer 2 provides ample cushioning and shock absorption that handles both recovery runs and moderately fast training with equal ease — particularly well-suited for heel strikers given its generous 9mm drop. The Helion superfoam base provides consistent, firm-to-moderate cushioning that feels stable and grounded rather than overly plush, giving the shoe a connected, responsive character that works well across a wide range of paces. An improved rubber outsole with better coverage in the midfoot and heel provides enhanced grip and durability across road surfaces, with smaller tread cavities that contribute to the shoe's long-term longevity.
