On Paper

A Short Story Collection An experienced principal at odds with the young, new teacher on her staff. There’s nothing she can learn from this new hire, with her unusual methods and outlandish ideas…or is there? An old woman in the clutches of dementia, dancing in the dead of night with an imaginary partner… or is there a real person behind the veil of this dance? A couple is undergoing a divorce proceeding just for legal purposes, where there will be no real or enduring consequences on either husband or wife…or will there? Sometimes we think we have it all planned out. We create for ourselves a path through the trees: what will and won’t work, who will come through, where we must be and when. And then life happens, reality hits, and we realize: Real life is often nothing like we envisioned it to be “on paper.” In this beautiful fiction collection of short stories, originally published in Mishpacha magazine, author Rivka Streicher brings an incredible cast of characters to life: their hopes and dreams and stories.  Follow their journeys around the bends and backwaters of the human psyche, as the way changes and lightens and leads them home…sometimes when it’s least anticipated.  A must-read for fiction lovers!  By Rivka Streicher
