Olive Mayfly-14

The Mayfly - Olive is a subtle, realistic dry fly designed to imitate olive-bodied adult mayflies—most notably Blue-Winged Olives (BWOs). Featuring a slim olive body, upright wings, and delicately balanced hackle, this pattern presents a natural silhouette that excels when trout are feeding selectively during olive-toned mayfly hatches. Its understated profile allows it to sit cleanly in the surface film, closely matching natural duns. This fly shines during spring and fall Baetis hatches, particularly on overcast days or during late-afternoon emergence windows when BWOs are most active. The muted coloration and low-profile float make it especially effective on technical water, spring creeks, and tailwaters where trout inspect their food closely.
