Old Testament Step by Step

Old Testament Step by Step is the ultimate guide for anyone who wants to finally understand the Old Testament clearly, without confusion or intimidation. Instead of getting lost in long genealogies, ancient laws, or unfamiliar prophecies, this book gives you a structured walk through the entire Old Testament: book by book, theme by theme, and person by person. Whether you’re a beginner who has never read a verse, a lifelong churchgoer seeking deeper context, or a student of history, literature, or theology, this resource shows you how the Old Testament fits together and why it still matters today. Inside, you’ll discover how the Old Testament is organized, what each book is about in simple terms, and how the stories of figures like Abraham, Moses, David, Solomon, Elijah, and Esther shaped the faith and culture of ancient Israel. You’ll see how prophets like Isaiah and Jeremiah warned, judged, and gave hope; how wisdom books like Proverbs, Job, and Ecclesiastes wrestled with life’s biggest questions; and how the Psalms gave voice to raw human emotion in worship and prayer. Each chapter builds step by step, so by the end you’ll have a mental map of the Old Testament and a clear sense of its structure, themes, and timeline. This book doesn’t preach, push a denomination, or assume prior knowledge. Instead, it offers accessible explanations, historical background, and a clear outline of the Old Testament’s covenant framework, theological themes, and major events. Along the way, you’ll learn why these ancient writings still speak to timeless issues of justice, suffering, faith, mercy, and community. Old Testament Step by Step is more than a reference; it’s a guided tour. Read it cover to cover or dip into the chapters that interest you most.
