It doesn't retain the double frame now famous with Old Mariner saltwater reels because such strength is not needed on smaller fish using light 6 wt and under rods. It is designed, even in its small size, to be ferociously strong and is very suitable for 5,6,7 weight line. Large arbor, easy direction change and removable spool, while being seriously light with ample capacity for any inshore application. It is the only United States machined reel with an engineered carbon fiber, sealed drag, at this low price point. Maintenance free for a lifetime of use.
