Old Dominick The Original Toddy

The Old Dominick The Original Toddy revives the bold, playful spirit of pre-Prohibition Memphis. This distinctive whiskey liqueur is a modern recreation of Domenico Canale’s long-lost recipe, reverse engineered from a dusty bottle tucked away in a forgotten warehouse. The result is a vibrant blend of Old Dominick’s signature high-rye bourbon and a carefully curated array of natural ingredients that pay homage to Tennessee’s storied past. Why Buy Old Dominick The Original Toddy? Because this isn’t just whiskey—it’s a piece of Memphis history brought back to life. Both classic and creative, The Original Toddy combines the warmth of bourbon with an aromatic medley of citrus, spice, and sweetness. Designed for versatility, it shines whether enjoyed neat, over cracked ice, or as the heart of inventive cocktails. Every pour celebrates craftsmanship, community, and the spirit of the South. The Background Old Dominick’s story dates back to the 1800s, when founder Domenico Canale built a reputation for quality and innovation in Memphis. When his family uncovered a forgotten bottle labeled “Original Toddy,” they set out to resurrect it using their own high-rye bourbon as a base. Today, The Original Toddy stands as both a tribute and a toast—proof that timeless recipes never truly fade away. Tasting Notes & Profile Nose: Bright aromas of ginger, honey, and a touch of peppery spice. Palate: Cinnamon candy, toasted clove, ginger ale, honey, cane sugar, and citrus peel, balanced by warm bourbon sweetness. Finish: Dry and lingering with notes of butterscotch, white pepper, and light baking spice. The Story Created in honor of Memphis’s rollicking pre-Prohibition era, The Original Toddy bridges the gap between history and modern mixology. Its balance of spice and sweetness makes it as approachable as it is complex—a whiskey-based spirit meant to be shared among friends, just as it was more than a century ago.
