This approachable and refined expression offers classic sweet and oak notes, a true testament to Kentucky's distilling legacy. Perfect for savoring neat or in your favorite bourbon cocktail. Tasting Notes Nose: A gentle and inviting nose, offering classic bourbon sweetness. Dominant notes of caramel and vanilla custard are intertwined with subtle hints of dried apricot, light toasted oak, and a faint whisper of baking spice, like nutmeg and cinnamon. There's a delicate floral undertone, almost like honeysuckle, adding a touch of freshness. Palate: The palate is approachable and well-balanced, a true reflection of its 86 proof. Initial sweetness of brown sugar and candied corn immediately greets the tongue, followed by a pleasant warmth. Hints of stone fruit, particularly peach and apricot, emerge, complemented by a soft, well-integrated oak presence that doesn't overpower. A whisper of white pepper and a touch of roasted nuttiness add complexity without being aggressive. Finish: A medium-length, smooth finish that continues the theme of gentle sweetness and oak. Vanilla and caramel linger pleasantly, with a subtle dry spice from the oak and rye. It leaves a clean and satisfying sensation, encouraging another sip. No harsh ethanol bite, showcasing a well-aged and carefully crafted spirit. About the Distillery Old Charter Distillery Co. boasts a rich heritage rooted in Kentucky bourbon production since 1874.
