Old 97's - Blame It On Gravity [CD/DVD]

Digipak Blame It On Gravity, the band’s seventh studio recording, has been called “...their best album in seven years” by NPR’s All Things Considered. Rolling Stone describes the album saying “It’s a perfect mission statement from four Texans raised on the Beatles and Johnny Cash in equal measures, whose shiny melodies, and fatalistic character studies, do their forefathers proud” while the New Yorker says “Blame It On Gravity represents a full re-supply of its most attractive quality - its energy.” Blame It On Gravity superbly combines the various elements of rock, punk, classic country and pop displayed on previous releases and the collection is easily the band’s most well-rounded stack of songs recorded for a single offering to date. The album represents the quality of song-craft fans have come to expect from the 97’s past releases and is also reminiscent of the intensity, drive and bona fide joy found on cult favorite and major label debut Too Far To Care.
