OL Travertine Avorio Polished 12 x 24

OL Collection: "Travertine Avorio Polished" 12” x 24” Premium Porcelain Tile The "Liquid Tivoli" Luxury Aesthetic While traditional open-pored travertine frames a room in rustic, antiqued earthiness, the OL (Overland) Travertine Avorio Polished 12” x 24” Porcelain Tile by Elysium scales up the visual drama to inject high-octane, reflective grandiosity into upscale surfaces. It represents the height of "Maximalist Coastal Elegance," "Warm Classical Glamour," and "Subdued Transitional Opulence." Inspired by the historic, sun-bleached travertine of Tivoli, Italy, the "Avorio" colorway presents an exquisite ivory, soft warm-cream, and rich alabaster canvas. The background layout is detailed using high-definition digital inkjet glazing technology to mirror the distinctive linear sediment pathways and fine mineral layers of genuine cross-cut stone. Treated with an ultra-reflective factory high-gloss polish, the surface behaves like a sheet of liquid crystal. It captures and bounces ambient light to visually expand smaller footprints, while magnifying the creamy mineral depths beneath the glassy face. It stands as an elite specification for high-end primary bathroom walls, stunning kitchen backsplashes, and elegant vanity surrounds. Product Description Introduce a luminous, jewel-like glow into your interior layouts with the OL Travertine Avorio Polished 12" x 24" Field Tile (Item Code: P4649). Masterfully curated and distributed nationwide by Elysium, this premium fine porcelain stoneware balances the soft, organic warmth of rare Italian stone with the unyielding technical durability of modern vitrified ceramics. It effortlessly resists tracking oils, watermarks, household acids, and cosmetic wear. The OL Collection is precision-engineered featuring flawlessly Rectified Edges, enabling ultra-tight grout joints that minimize visible grid lines and create a virtually seamless stone horizon. Sourced at a substantial 3/8" (approx. 9.5 mm to 10.0 mm) thickness, it delivers a robust architectural presence underfoot, high impact resistance, and full compatibility with underfloor radiant heating elements. Each box contains 8 pieces covering exactly 15.50 Sq. Ft., joining together cleanly to build an expansive canvas of high-end stone luxury. You must utilize a high-performance, polymer-modified Large and Heavy Tile (LHT) Mortar to properly support the tile's weight and prevent "lippage" (uneven tile edges) as the thin-set cures. To protect the pristine clarity of the translucent-look ivory field, a Bright White LHT thin-set mortar is highly required. Using cheap gray mortar will bleed dark shadows right up through the tile, permanently turning your pristine ivory travertine layout a dull, muddy gray. Furthermore, to manage the natural microscopic bowing inherent to all elongated porcelain tiles, installers should lay the tiles in a standard straight grid or a maximum 33% (1/3) offset running bond. Never lay these rectangular tiles in a traditional 50% brick-joint pattern. Professional Recommendations: The Face-Check Layout: Because the OL Travertine Avorio features a highly realistic stone profile, installers must dry-lay several boxes across a flat surface prior to setting. Rotate and arrange the pieces fluidly to balance the path of the linear mineral bands across your layout for an optimal aesthetic. 100% Mortar Coverage (Back-Buttering): To guarantee an unbreakable permanent bond and ensure zero hollow air pockets beneath these tiles, the installer must firmly "back-butter" the smooth back of every single tile with thin-set mortar alongside substrate troweling. Mechanical Leveling Spacer Systems: Take advantage of the sharp rectified edges by utilizing a mechanical leveling system (clips and wedges) during setting to secure a precise 1/16" joint layout. Choosing a matching "Alabaster" or "Warm Cream" grout color allows the grid lines to seamlessly dissolve into a monolithic stone sheet. Frequently Asked Questions Is a 12" x 24" polished porcelain tile safe for wet walk-in shower floors? While highly suited for main residential bathroom accent walls, entryways, kitchen backsplashes, and main vanity floor surrounds, a large-format polished surface can become slick when wet on a shower floor. For optimal slip-safety inside wet custom shower pans, we highly recommend pairing these polished walls with its coordinating matte options or utilizing it exclusively for shower walls and dry bathroom layouts. How do I clean and maintain this high-gloss porcelain over time? Unlike natural travertine stone which is porous, easily stained, and etched by acidic cleaners, this vitrified porcelain tile is completely non-porous and chemically inert. It will never require routine sealing, re-polishing, or special stone waxes. Simply clean regular floors or walls with a soft microfiber mop or cloth and a basic pH-neutral household cleaner or simple water. Pro Design Tips The Textural Finishes Mix: Use a high-end designer trick by pairing finishes within the same colorway. Install OL Travertine Avorio Next Matte tiles across the bathroom floor for slip-safety, and run these matching OL Travertine Avorio Polished 12x24 tiles vertically up the shower walls. This keeps the color palette perfectly unified while creating a captivating contrast between liquid reflections and velvety matte surfaces. The Classical Monolithic Vanity Backsplash: Install these 12" x 24" tiles horizontally in a straight stack from the vanity countertop up to the ceiling behind a double mirror setup. Pair the luminous ivory and soft sand tones with natural white oak or rich walnut cabinetry and modern champagne bronze or matte black hardware to achieve a breathtaking transitional landscape.
