OL Onyx White Matte 24 x 48

OL Collection: "Onyx White Matte" 24” x 48” Premium Porcelain Slab The "Translucent Cloud" Minimalist Aesthetic While smaller tile sizes segment a space with frequent, interrupted joint systems, the OL (Overland) Onyx White Matte 24” x 48” Porcelain Tile by Elysium scales up the geometry to introduce a grand, architectural tranquility to high-end interior spaces. It represents the height of "Quiet Luxury," "Warm Organic Minimalism," and "Luminous Serenity."Inspired by rare natural White Onyx—a gemstone celebrated since antiquity for its multi-layered, internal glowing depth—this series balances striking mineral architecture with a soft, diffused presentation. The design presents an exquisite, milky-white foundation woven with faint, gossamer bands of soft silver-gray, pale ivory cloud sedimentations, and delicate, icy crystallizations. Scaling this high-drama gemstone pattern up to a grand 24" x 48" slab format with a light-absorbing matte finish minimizes visual clutter and completely eliminates harsh specular glare. This allows your room's natural ambient light, raw timbers, and architectural shadow lines to command absolute center stage. It serves as an elite architectural specification for continuous open-concept living floors, majestic floor-to-ceiling shower surrounds, and high-impact accent facades. Product Description Introduce a bright, dream-like atmosphere into your property footprint with the OL Onyx White Matte 24" x 48" (60x120 cm) Field Tile. Sourced and distributed by Elysium, this large-format fine porcelain tile seamlessly captures the mesmerizing, layered aesthetic of genuine onyx with the unyielding technical durability of modern vitrified ceramics. Utilizing state-of-the-art digital inkjet glazing technology, it perfectly mirrors the complex graphic movement, soft tone-on-tone banding, and semi-translucent illusion of organic stone without any of its structural fragility, moisture absorption, scratching liabilities, or intensive chemical vulnerabilities. The OL Collection is precision-engineered featuring flawlessly Rectified Edges, enabling ultra-tight 1/16" or 1/8" grout joints that banish visible joint lines to construct a virtually seamless, monolithic stone plane. Sourced at a calibrated, high-performance structural profile, it delivers exceptional load-bearing strength, high impact resistance, and complete compatibility with underfloor radiant heating elements. The refined matte surface behaves like a soft light-filter—masking daily water spots, footprints, soap scum, or light dust tracking effortlessly. Each rectangular slab covers exactly 7.75 Sq. Ft. (packaged 2 pieces / 15.50 Sq. Ft. per box), joining together cleanly to form an expansive plane of clean elegance. You must utilize a high-performance, polymer-modified Large and Heavy Tile (LHT) Mortar to properly support the tile's weight and prevent "lippage" (uneven tile edges) as the thin-set cures. To protect the pristine clarity of the cream-ivory field, a Bright White LHT thin-set mortar is highly recommended. Furthermore, to manage the natural microscopic bowing inherent to all elongated porcelain tiles, installers should lay the tiles in a standard straight grid or a maximum 33% (1/3) offset running bond. Never lay these large rectangular slabs in a traditional 50% brick-joint pattern. Professional Recommendations: The Face-Check Layout: Because the OL Onyx White features a highly realistic, expressive gemstone profile, installers must dry-lay several boxes across a flat surface prior to setting. Rotate and arrange the pieces fluidly to balance the path of the silver-gray bands across your layout for an optimal aesthetic. 100% Mortar Coverage (Back-Buttering): To guarantee an unbreakable permanent bond and ensure zero hollow air pockets beneath these heavy tiles, the installer must firmly "back-butter" the smooth back of every single tile with thin-set mortar alongside substrate troweling. Mechanical Leveling Spacer Systems: Take advantage of the sharp rectified edges by utilizing a mechanical leveling system (clips and wedges) during setting to secure an ultra-flat layout. Choosing a matching "Alabaster" or "Bright White" grout allows the grid lines to seamlessly dissolve into a monolithic stone sheet. Frequently Asked Questions Is a large 24" x 48" matte porcelain onyx tile safe for bathroom floors and walk-in showers? Yes. Unlike its polished counterparts, the refined Matte finish of the OL Onyx White provides an elegant, slip-resistant texture that meets or exceeds standard D.C.O.F. requirements (≥ 0.42). This provides excellent structural traction underfoot when wet, making it entirely safe for main master bathroom floors, high-moisture laundry footprints, and spacious curbless shower surrounds. How do I clean and maintain this onyx-look porcelain over time? Natural onyx stone is notoriously soft, brittle, highly porous, and easily scarred or etched by acidic cleaners. Conversely, this vitrified porcelain tile is completely non-porous and chemically inert. It will never require routine sealing, re-polishing, or special stone waxes. Simply clean regular floors or walls with a soft microfiber mop and a basic pH-neutral household floor cleaner or simple water. Pro Design Tips The Textural Finishes Mix: Use a high-end designer trick by pairing finishes within the same colorway. Install these 24" x 48" Matte tiles across the bathroom floor for slip-safety, and run the matching OL Onyx White Polished24x48 slabs vertically up the shower walls. This keeps the color palette perfectly unified while playing up a beautiful contrast between liquid reflections and velvety matte surfaces. The Continuous Horizon Wall: Take these 24" x 48" slabs and stack them horizontally in a seamless vertical grid straight up your bathroom walls to the ceiling inside a zero-entry curbless shower. Pair with sleek matte black or warm champagne bronze plumbing fixtures to achieve an ultra-clean, high-end European spa aesthetic.
