Ohio Flame Liberty Fire Pit with Circular Base

The Liberty American Fire Pit | Heavy-Duty Steel | Ohio Flame "The Liberty" American Fire Pit by Ohio Flame "The Liberty" American Fire Pit is the definitive industrial-minimalist heating solution, combining a bold, linear aesthetic with the raw power of heavy-gauge American carbon steel. Unlike the flowing curves of the Artisan series, The Liberty features a structured, low-profile design that serves as a modern architectural anchor for any landscape. Hand-forged by local artisans using locally sourced steel, this fire pit is engineered for maximum durability and requires zero maintenance, standing as a permanent fixture against year-round environmental extremes. Backed by Ohio Flame’s legendary Lifetime Warranty, this 100% American-made pit arrives fully assembled and ready for a lifetime of wood-burning memories or a seamless professional gas conversion. It’s not just a fire pit; it’s an American-made legacy of steel and fire. Key Architectural & Performance Features Bold & Linear Minimalist Design The Liberty distinguishes itself through clean lines and a structured profile. Designed for those who prefer an industrial-modern aesthetic, the linear styling complements contemporary architecture and minimalist garden designs. It provides a stark, powerful visual presence that frames the fire within a deliberate, geometric chassis. Industrial Carbon American Steel Ohio Flame sources high-quality, thick carbon steel from local American mills to ensure structural integrity that outlasts standard consumer products. The heavy-gauge fabrication provides a massive thermal sink, allowing the pit to absorb significant heat and radiate it evenly across your seating area. This is the "no-compromise" approach to outdoor heating. Natural Atmospheric Maturation The "Natural Steel Finish" is designed to interact with its environment. Upon exposure to the elements, the steel will develop a natural iron oxide patina. This process is not a sign of wear but a protective structural skin that guards the core steel against deep corrosion. The finish will gradually darken and rich in color over time, creating a unique, weathered look that never requires painting or touch-ups. Integrated Drainage & Gas Readiness At the center of the basin lies a substantial 1.25-inch Rain Drain. This engineering detail serves two critical purposes: it ensures that rainwater and snowmelt clear the basin immediately to keep the fire bed dry, and it provides a pre-sized conduit for liquid propane or natural gas plumbing should you choose to convert the unit to a gas-fueled system. Operational Suitability & Ideal Applications The Liberty is optimized for permanent residential and commercial installations where a rugged, "set-and-forget" mentality is the priority. Because it contains no moving parts, bolts, or mechanical fasteners to fail, it is the safest and most durable choice for high-use environments like hospitality courtyards, public parks, or high-end residential estates. Its low center of gravity and significant weight make it exceptionally stable in windy coastal or mountain regions. This unit is highly suited for the homeowner who demands zero-maintenance hardware. There is no need for protective covers, seasonal storage, or chemical cleaning. The Liberty is built to be a permanent, year-round focal point that gains character as it ages. Whether fueled by a roaring wood fire or a clean-burning gas system, it provides the structural backbone for a lifetime of outdoor gatherings. Ohio Flame’s Lifetime Warranty is a specific structural guarantee. It ensures that the carbon steel chassis of "The Liberty" will not burn through or rust through for the duration of the product's life. This is a level of protection you won't find at big-box retailers, where fire pits are often replaced every 2-3 years due to metal fatigue and corrosion. Will the natural patina stain my patio? During the initial stages of the oxidation process, some runoff may occur during heavy rains as the steel develops its protective skin. For use on light-colored stone or concrete, we recommend using a fire pit mat or pavers during the first season until the patina has stabilized. Once the iron oxide layer is mature, runoff is significantly minimized. How do I convert The Liberty to a gas fire pit? The 1.25" Rain Drain is already sized to accept a gas burner system. You will simply need a professional-grade gas burner ring and plumbing kit (sold separately). You can then fill the basin with lava rock or fire glass to create a modern, clean-burning fire feature without compromising the industrial strength of the heavy steel shell.
