OFFSET TONGUE & GROOVE ROUTER BIT SET

When you combine the tongue & groove system with the ease and speed of pocket hole systems you have the best of both world for building cabinets. The Offset Tongue & Groove Set includes a matched set that will produce a 1/4” x 1/4" tongue. What distinguishes it from other tongue and groove sets is that the tongue is offset to one side of the joint. This produces a stronger joint allowing for more drilling area when using a pocket hole system and face frame screws. When the pocket hole jig is set at the one-inch setting, the screw will bypass the tongue and get a full bite in the grooved section to achieve a much stronger joint. In some cabinet making applications where it is necessary to trim portions of the tongue, the 1/2" shank flush trim bit is included in the three-piece set. The tongue and groove joint is used in every element of joining cabinets. When used in conjunction with a pocket hole system, you will be able to merge the best of traditional joinery with new methods for face frame joints and completely concealed areas where bottoms, sides, and dividers are attached to the face frame. 1/2″ shank only.  Carbide tipped.
