Offerings of Ink and Flame: Devotional Poetry from the Silent Path, by J. Patrick Gasparini

Poetry, chapbook, 28 pages, from Bottlecap Features. Offerings of Ink and Flame is a devotional chapbook born in stillness and surrender—written in the liminal space between grief and grace, ritual and revelation. It is a spiritual journey shaped by ancient voices and modern longing, guided by the Netjeru who whisper in shadow and shine through flame. These poems are more than words—they are libations in verse, sacred utterances drawn from the heart of a worshipper and scribe. Through four unfolding movements, this collection traces a path of divine communion: from the awe of first contact, through the ache of separation, and into the rebirth that follows sacred return. The voice behind these offerings is both reverent and ra —honoring deities such as Seshat, Nebet-Het, Djehuty, Bastet, and Ra with tenderness, vulnerability, and fire. Each piece is an act of presence, a reaching out, a listening in. Offerings of Ink and Flame is not just a collection of poems—it is a temple in language, a shrine of breath and ink. It invites readers to feel, to remember, and to meet the divine where they are: in silence, in storm, and in the sacred rhythms of the everyday. J. Patrick Gasparini is a Kemetic poet and devotee based in Richmond, Virginia, whose work blends ancient reverence with modern life. Rooted in the worship of the Netjeru—particularly Seshat, Djehuty, Nebet-Het, Bastet, and Ra—their poetry explores themes of grief, rebirth, divine communion, and sacred mystery. Offerings of Ink and Flame is their third publication and first chapbook, following Dealing with Demons and Loving Her to Care. When not writing, they tend their altar, their cats, and seek the sacred in both stillness and storm.
