This Maple Syrup "Off Flavor Kit" was created by the experts at UVM Extension. It's a useful reference kit for identifying the three most common naturally occurring off flavors - buddy, sour and metabolism. Each kit also comes with three plastic sampling spoons and a pamphlet explaining the proper process for tasting syrup and how to identify additional off flavors that can occur.
