Electro-Harmonix OCEANS11 11 multi-function reverb pedal

A compact, affordable pedal packed with advanced functionality and 11 reverb styles ranging from essential to exotic. Specs 11 different reverb types: HALL, SPRING, PLATE, REVRS, ECHO, TREM, MOD, DYNA, AUTO-INF, SHIM and POLY Tails switch. Select whether the reverb fades out naturally or stops immediately when the pedal is switched to bypass Easy access to powerful “hidden” parameters thru Secondary Knob Mode Able to produce infinite reverb you can play over in most settings EHX 9.6VDC-200mA power supply Included Current Draw: 150mA @ 9VDC Dimensions in inches: 2.75(w) x 4.5(l) x 2.1(h) Dimensions in mm: 70(w) x 115(l) x 54(h) Reverbs HALL – the rich reverberant sound of a grand concert hall SPRING – pays homage to the classic Fender® 6G15 tube spring reverb PLATE – the lush, warm reverb that got its name because a large metal plate was originally used to create it REVRS – emulates the quirky reverse reverb effect where a note’s reverb fades-in backwards. (Jimmy Page claims to have invented it.) ECHO –sends a recirculating echo thru the Plate reverb. The crisp clear delays get tastefully smudged by the airy plate reverb TREM – reverb plus tremolo that’s applied to both the wet and dry mix of a Hall reverb, your choice of three different tremolo shapes MOD – modulated reverb, three modes. Chorus laced onto the reverb tails creates a luscious atmospheric effect. Flanger wraps around the reverb tails and weaves a hypnotic tapestry. Chorus and flanger combined. DYNA – Swell, gate and duck. Swell silences your notes’ attacks before blooming the tails back into the soundscape. Gate passes the reverb tail thru a noise gate that opens when it detects playing. (Phil Collins popularized the technique by applying it to drums.) Duck compresses the reverb tail while you’re playing and fades it back in when you’re resting. AUTO-INF – Auto-infinite reverb that triggers a reverb wash for each note or chord. When a new one is struck, the previously resounding reverb crossfades to the new one SHIM – Shimmer generates a rich octave-shifted reverb wash that modulates and blossoms behind your signal POLY – Polyphonic reverb, two configurable bi-directional pitch shifts operating on your pre-reverb signal. Combine dissonant intervals with near infinite decays to create disorienting soundtracks, or choose perfect/major intervals to generate creative harmonies when jumping around a key signature The Oceans 11 features powerful, yet intuitive “hidden” parameters accessible thru its Secondary Knob Mode that let the player take greater control of its effects. An internal Tails switch also provides a choice of whether the reverb effect fades out naturally or stops immediately when the pedal is switched to bypass. In most settings the pedal is also capable of producing infinite reverb which can be played over with a fresh reverb effect complete with adjustable parameters! Controls FX LVL Knob – Controls the output volume of the reverb effect. When this knob is at the minimum position, the output is only your dry signal. As the knob is turned up, the reverb output increases in volume. As the knob is turned past 2 o’clock, the dry signal decreases in volume. When the knob is at the maximum position, only the effect is output. TIME Knob – Usually controls the decay time of the OCEANS 11 reverb. As this knob is turned clockwise, the reverb time gets longer and longer, reaching infinite when the knob is as far as it will go. TONE Knob – Usually controls the tone or EQ of the reverb signal. As this knob is turned clockwise, the sound of the reverb gets brighter. As you turn TONE counter-clockwise, the sound of the reverb gets darker. Reverb Type Knob – This knob is an 11-position rotary switch that selects which of the OCEANS 11's reverb types is active. See “Descriptions of Reverb Types” on page 4 for details on the reverb types. MODE Button – This button cycles through the available modes of the active reverb type. Each reverb type has a certain number of modes which modify the behavior of the active reverb type. See “Mode Button Functionality on page 5 for more details. LED – The LED lights when the OCEANS 11 effect is active and shuts off when in bypass mode. Its color and blinking pattern also indicate information about the reverb mode, tap tempo delay, and infinite status. See “Mode Button Functionality” on page 6, “Footswitch Functionality” on page 8, and “Infinite Reverb Functionality” on page 14 for more details. Footswitch – Press the footswitch to toggle the pedal between buffered bypass and effect modes. When the pedal is in effect mode, the LED will be lit. In most reverbs, the footswitch can also engage Infinite by pressing and holding it down. Moreover, the footswitch can be used for tap tempo in ECHO reverb. For more details see “Footswitch Functionality” on page 7 and “Infinite Reverb Functionality” on page 14. TAILS Switch – The OCEANS 11 allows you to choose whether reverb continues to play or stop immediately after the pedal is switched to bypass. To control this, remove the OCEANS 11's bottom cover and locate the small slide switch on the bottom of the board labeled “TAILS.” When TAILS is set to ON, the reverb will continue to play after the pedal switched to bypass, with the decay time set by the TIME knob. Anything you play after entering bypass will not reverberate. If the pedal is set for infinite decay time (i.e. TIME is set to maximum) the reverb will continue until you turn TIME down or switch to a different mode.
