An extraordinary speaker designed by a family of artisans. MoMA Exclusive: Inspired by the concept of sculpting the structure of sound, the Object 9 Speaker’s graceful curves and balanced form provide both a fascinating object d’art and an exceptional sound experience. Handcrafted by skilled artisans at Ballon de Paris, the Object Speaker series is the brainchild of the Garrel family, who founded a violin atelier in 1921 and have been renowned for their auditory innovations ever since. In the Object 9, they hoped to create a speaker with extraordinary performance that “expresses its presence through proportion and harmony” instead of high-tech bells and whistles. Their proprietary, pipe-like design minimizes distortion, and the use of vicuña wool in the speaker coverings enhances sound absorption and eliminates noise, delivering superior performance across low, mid, and high frequencies. Over 85% of the product is made from recyclable materials, contributing to reduced environmental impact. Features of the Object 9 Speaker include: Bluetooth 5.0 wireless connectivity. Remote control. 180W Speaker output. Made of sound-grade PVC, HDF (High-Density Fiberboard), stainless steel, sound system components and acoustic fabric made with vicuña wool. Over 92% percent of the materials used in construction are recyclable. Optional stand allows alternative positioning within your living or working space. Object 9 with optional stand measures 29.5h x 19.5w x 15.7"d. Speaker alone measures 19.9h x 19.5w x 13"d and weighs 40 lbs. Stand alone measures 9.6h x 15.7" diam. and weighs 27 lbs. (Stand sold separately.)
