Nurturing the Child with Special Needs

Course Description: All children need to feel a sense of belonging and significant in ways that elicit positive responses from those around them. Sometimes, a child with special needs can alienate others when attempting to have their unique requirements met. This results in the child feeling even more isolated and ineffectual. Clinicians, parents, and teachers are thus required to adapt their interactions and look at the whole child, as they take his or her particular needs into account. This is not an easy undertaking, as it involves staying focused on children’s individual strengths, while helping them understand and manage their challenges.
