Nuova Simonelli Prontobar Touch Super-Automatic Espresso Machine

The Nuova Simonelli Prontobar Touch is a compact commercial super-automatic espresso machine designed for restaurants, hotels, cafés, offices and hospitality locations that need consistent espresso and milk drinks without a traditional barista workflow. Its 7-inch color touchscreen can present up to 20 programmable beverages, allowing an operator to prepare espresso, coffee and milk-based drinks from a clear, customizable menu.  This U.S.-market configuration pairs two built-in grinders with Nuova Simonelli Easycream technology. It is a strong fit where drink quality, menu flexibility and ease of training matter, but available counter width is limited. The machine is only about 13 inches wide while still incorporating the grinders, brewing group, hot-water outlet and milk-frothing system needed for a complete commercial beverage station. Why Choose the Prontobar Touch? 7-inch touchscreen: provides an intuitive drink-selection and programming interface. Up to 20 programmable beverages: customize drink names, icons and recipes for the location’s menu. Two integrated grinders: supports multiple coffees while keeping the workflow contained within one machine. Easycream milk technology: automates milk heating and texture settings for more repeatable milk preparation. Metal thermocompensated brew group: supports stable temperature management and consistent brewing. Volumetric pump: contributes to quieter operation and controlled beverage delivery. Nanotech-treated burrs: designed for professional productivity and extended burr life. Automatic cleaning programs: streamline routine end-of-day care. Compact commercial footprint: approximately 13 inches wide, 21 inches deep and 25 inches high. A Super-Automatic Workflow for Commercial Locations The Prontobar Touch reduces a multi-step espresso workflow to a programmable drink selection. The operator chooses a beverage on the touchscreen, and the machine manages grinding, dosing, tamping, extraction and the programmed beverage parameters. That makes it useful in locations where many employees need to produce a consistent menu without spending months developing traditional barista technique. Recipes can be organized with custom icons and names, helping restaurants, hotels and offices match the screen to their actual menu. Programming access includes coffee dose, brewing temperature, steam temperature, group temperature and tamping force. Automatic on/off scheduling and standby functions also help the machine fit a predictable operating schedule. Easycream Milk Technology This configuration includes Nuova Simonelli’s Easycream system for assisted milk preparation. Milk temperature and foam density can be programmed for different drinks, helping operators reproduce the intended texture with less manual steaming variability. It is especially useful for businesses serving cappuccinos, lattes and other milk beverages but not staffing a conventional espresso bar throughout the day. Easycream is different from a fully refrigerated milk-draw system. The operator still needs to follow the manufacturer’s milk-handling and cleaning procedures. Businesses comparing super-automatic machines should consider whether this assisted steaming workflow or a one-step fresh-milk system is the better match for staffing, menu speed and sanitation routines. Two Grinders and Flexible Coffee Selection The Prontobar Touch uses two built-in grinders with micrometric adjustment, allowing the machine to support more than one coffee. The manufacturer also describes a decaffeinated-coffee option, which can expand the menu without requiring a separate countertop grinder. Each hopper holds approximately 0.8 kg, or about 2 pounds, of coffee. Integrated grinding keeps the equipment footprint manageable and lets the programmed recipe coordinate grind time with brewing parameters. As with any bean-to-cup machine, coffee freshness, roast style, burr condition and correct grinder calibration remain important. A qualified installer or service technician should commission the machine and adjust recipes around the coffee being served. Capacity and Best-Fit Locations Nuova Simonelli rates the Prontobar Touch for up to approximately 140 espressos or 100 cappuccinos per hour under its test conditions. Actual output depends on drink size, milk workflow, recipe, operator movement, refill intervals and cleaning requirements. Peak-period demand—not only daily drink count—should determine whether one machine provides enough capacity. The Prontobar Touch is particularly well suited to: Restaurants wanting espresso drinks without building a full traditional coffee bar Hotels, breakfast areas and conference spaces Medium-sized offices and employee beverage stations Convenience, hospitality and self-service environments with trained oversight Cafés needing a compact, repeatable bean-to-cup workflow Installation Requirements The Prontobar Touch is commercial equipment and requires professional installation. Confirm the electrical, water, drain and counter preparation before ordering. The U.S. installation sheet specifies the following requirements: Voltage 220V Power 2,800 watts Amperage 13 amps Receptacle NEMA 6-20, located within 3 feet Water connection 3/8-inch dedicated cold-water line with shutoff valve and compression fitting Line pressure 2–4 bar, cold water Minimum flow 1 gallon per minute Filtration Less than 1.0 micron Water hardness Maximum 3 gpg or 50 ppm TDS 50–250 ppm Alkalinity 10–150 ppm Chlorine Less than 0.50 ppm pH 6.5–8.5 Drain Open gravity drain, minimum 1.25-inch inside diameter, within 4 feet Water outside the specified range can cause scaling, corrosion, flavor problems and premature component failure. Test the installation water and specify treatment based on the actual chemistry rather than choosing a filter only by machine size. Cleaning, Maintenance and Ownership Planning The machine includes automatic washing programs, but automation does not eliminate daily cleaning. Follow the user manual for coffee-system cleaning, milk-system sanitation, grounds disposal and the required cleaning products. Commercial users should also establish a preventive-maintenance schedule with a qualified technician based on drink volume and local water conditions. Before purchase, plan for installation, filtration, operator training and service access. The machine’s compact size helps conserve counter space, but technicians still need reasonable access to service panels and utilities. A prepared site and a clear maintenance plan reduce downtime and protect beverage consistency.
