Main, the NXTa Viola provides designers excellent amplified and recorded performance quality, and extraordinary freedom of expression. The Polar Pickup System is driven directly by the vibration of strings, allowing it to produce the full spectral range of sound with power and quality. (in comparison, an acoustic viola’s amplified performance is greatly influenced by the resonant capabilities of body associated with the instrument.) The NXTa setup with F-C-G-D, Octave, and/or G-D-A-E strings, delivers the whole range with complete richness of tone. A convenient switch next to the amount and tone controls enables selection between heightened Arco and Pizzicato pickup sensitiveness, expanding the tonal palette even further, virtually without any wolf tones.
