NOVA Obsidian Excavation Lab

Young scientists unearth hidden treasures and explore the science of geology with the NOVA Obsidian Excavation Lab! Kids who love gems and rocks enjoy chipping and chiseling away at a mysterious obsidian replica to reveal a collection of real gemstones and minerals. With each discovery, kids learn how to identify their finds using real gemologist methods: matching, testing and classifying stones just like the pros. Once all the stones are uncovered, builders can apply their new excavation and identification skills to the bonus miniature obsidian dig for even more hands-on exploration. Designed to inspire curiosity and confidence, this engaging science kit introduces geology basics through tactile, rewarding play. From MW Wholesale, for ages 4+ yrs.
