Taksang Monastery in Bhutan Taksang is one of the most famous monasteries in Bhutan. It hangs on a cliff at over ten thousand feet above the bottom of Paro valley. The name Taksang means "Tiger's nest", referring to the account that relates how Padmasambhava flew there on the back of a tiger. The monastery includes seven temples which can all be visited.
