NORTHERN LIGHTS

Everyone's out in the yard at eleven at night with coats over pajamas, looking up. The fire from earlier is down to coals nobody's tending. It's cool enough that people keep saying they're going in, and then not going in. It feels too good where they are. Black Tie — Shimmering citrus, dewy white blossoms, tonka bean, vanilla woods, warm musk. Sweet, soft-focus, and quietly expensive. Barn — Cool breeze, snow kissed trees, cozy spices, glowing embers. Outside, and the fire you left burning there.
