Nivada Grenchen Aquamar Blue Dial 32077A01

The Aquamar collection is Nivada Grenchen’s modern revival of a lesser-known but charismatic dive watch from the late 1960s. Rooted in the Antarctic family, each Aquamar model blends vintage charm with professional-grade technical features, making it a highly versatile and collectible timepiece. Faithful to its original proportions, the Aquamar features a 38 mm stainless steel case, double-domed sapphire crystal, and a 200-meter water resistance rating, making it perfectly suited for both diving adventures and everyday wear. Its bi-directional ceramic bezel and sandwich-style dial offer depth, legibility, and distinctive character. A signature feature of the collection is the bi-color roulette-style date disc, which brings a whimsical, collector-friendly touch to the otherwise tool-oriented design. But what truly sets the Aquamar apart is its innovative changing lume system: the date disc itself is infused with two different Super-LumiNova tones—white and vintage beige. As the date changes, so does the glow, giving the watch a subtly shifting appearance between a crisp modern look and a warm, aged aesthetic. This clever feature transforms the Aquamar into a dynamic visual experience that evolves daily on the wrist. The dials—available in Matte Blue, Black, and Grey—are paired with white and faux patina options Super-LumiNova indices, further echoing the charm of aged tritium found on vintage divers. Powering the watch is the SOPROD P024 automatic movement, offering reliable Swiss precision and a 38-hour power reserve. Completing the package is an engraved caseback featuring the emblematic Antarctic penguin—a symbol of the collection’s enduring spirit and roots in exploration. Matte Blue Dial  Timeless and bold, the Black Aquamar is where vintage diver DNA meets modern-day edge. The sandwich dial glows with dual-tone lume, while the roulette calendar wheel adds a wink of whimsy to a sleek, tool-ready design. A go-anywhere, do-anything watch that whispers style and shouts reliability. The brand solidified its reputation with the introduction of the Antarctic in 1950, the first waterproof automatic watch. This timepiece gained fame when it accompanied members of the U.S. Navy's Operation Deep Freeze I during their South Pole expedition from 1955 to 1956.   In 1961, Nivada Grenchen launched the Chronomaster, a versatile waterproof chronograph designed for aviators, divers, and sports enthusiasts. The company continued its innovative streak with the release of the Depthomatic in 1964, the first diver's watch featuring a depth indicator, followed by the Depthmaster in 1965, capable of withstanding pressures up to 1,000 meters. After a period of dormancy, Nivada Grenchen experienced a rebirth in 2018, reintroducing two of its most iconic models—the Chronomaster Aviator Sea Diver and the Antarctic—at the forefront of its revival. The relaunch paved the way for the brand’s enduring appeal among modern watch enthusiasts while honoring its storied heritage.
